Doughnuts vs. Donuts

I was thinking earlier. Donut, or doughnut? Doughnut, or donut? They say "doughnut" is the proper spelling of "donut". Are donuts really just dough nuts? They are doughy of course, but nutty? Nada. Donut doughnut donut doughnut. This is having an affect on me. Doughnuts, donuts everywhere. I'm going to google images of "donuts", then google images of "dougnuts." Will there be a difference?

Some results from "donuts"

Mmmm. MY FAVORITE! ^

The classic doughnut. I MEAN, donut.

Homer Simpson came up, too...?

Some results from searching "doughnuts".

Oh! Doughnuts think they're more sophisticated than donuts.

My second favorite.

Anyways. I learned that "donuts" are from Dunkin' Donuts. And, "doughnuts" are from Krispy Kreme. Althoughhhh, Krispy Kreme thinks they are more sophisticated than Dunkin' Donuts. But Krispy Kreme has spelling errors all over the place! So maybe donuts is the original spelling...

And, when I search "donut seeds" I get this...

Yum! Donut seeds!

The purpose of this post: to get you thinking about spelling.
Or maybe it was just to get you to go to either Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, or a Krispy Kreme near you.
I don't know.
I won't tell.
Bye,
*Sydney*
The donut seed gardener.
PS: the next spelling bee in 2 weeks. o_O wish me luck.
PPS: Until then, wish those people luck who think Cheerios are dougnut/donut seeds.
PPPS: Later gators!
